Wright Parish

Forward
by Mrs. Lucy Monif

My family lines goes far, far back into the annals of Wright Parish, and the area known as Pleasantview. It is my pleasure to be able to keep this legacy going strong, and to record its history for future generations.

My name is Lucy Monif, formerly Lucy Burb. I am the daughter of John Burb and Jennifer Pleasant Burb. Both of my families and their ancestors hail from this very area, and due to the efforts of my mother, I already have a large database of information on Pleasantview and it's past people.

If there is any information - past or present - that you need on Wright families, or any of the lands that make up Wright Parish, please feel free to contact me anytime at lucy.monif@skatoolaki.com. You can also stop by or drop a line to me at the Record Keeping Building at:

History

Wright Parish and the neighborhood village of Pleasantview were founded many years ago by the wealthy Gunther Goth, who moved to the area with his wife, Cornelia Crumplebottom Goth, and their young son, Mortimer. Dean Goth was also the founder of Academie Le Tour where his descendants continue to be educated today.

The Goths continue to be significant members of the parish's society even today.

Important Sims

Dustin BrokeMayor Dustin Broke

Dustin Broke's tale is truly a rags-to-riches story. Starting out as the oldest child, many responsibilities fell onto young Dustin's shoulders when his father passed away. Dustin did what he could to help his mother with his younger brothers, but it was a big responsibility for a young child and Dustin was constantly in trouble.

He praises his wife with keeping him on track. Angela and Dustin were childhood sweethearts, and though they went through a rocky period when they first entered adulthood, the two are now married and have a beautiful family. Angela did her best to keep Dustin on the straight-and-narrow, and eventually her hard work paid off. Dustin gave up his life of crime and bad ways, and got into politics...the road that would eventually lead to him becoming Mayor of Pleasantview.

Dustin is also quite the entrepreneur - he owns two restaurants in Wright Parish, Taste of Tibet (managed by his daughter, Elena) and Mandarin, run and staffed by his immediate family.

Dustin lives in Pleasantview with his wife, Angela, their grown daughter, Danielle, and their twin teen girls, Dorrie and Dodie.

Lucy MonifLucy Monif, Wright Parish Record Keeper

Born Lucy Burb, Mrs. Monif is more than qualified to fill the position of Wright Parish Record Keeper - a spot left open when long-time keeper, Mary-Sue Pleasant, passed away a few weeks ago. Lucy is excited about getting the position - especially since she used to help her aunt out on summers during her chidhood.

The Burbs, as well as the Pleasants, all have long-standing histories in this parish, and Lucy plans to try and keep that legacy going strong. Two of her children, her twin boys, are named after family: Jeff, named after Lucy's maternal grandfather, Jeff Pleasant, and Brad, named after Lucy's paternal grandfather, Brad Burb.

She wishes, though, that there was a way she could hold on to the surnames as easily.

"My parents only had me," she says, "And Uncle Daniel and Aunt Mary-Sue only had my cousins, Lillith and Angela, so our family names were kind of lost. Thankfully, both Angela and Lillith had reason to give their first children their surnames. It saddens me to know I'm the last Burb."

It's something, at least, she doesn't have to worry about with her own children's name. She has three, two of them boys, and she plans to beg for many grandchildren.

"I hope we have, at least, a few boys in there," she says with a smile. "I can wait, though - I don't need grandkids anytime soon. I'd like to have a few more of my own first."

Lucy Monif lives in Pleasantview with her husband, Conrad, and their three children, Amy, Brad, and Jeff.
