Scholarships Available

The following scholarships are available to teens wishing to enter college. Each has certain requirements (that listed or higher) and offers a set simoleon amount. Scholarships are listed below in alphabetical order:

Grade Scale

Below is the grade scale and GPA equivalent used by all colleges and universities in the state.

Grants and minimum requirements

Doing good in college also entitles you to grants of Simoleons that can be used for extracurricular activities, or to spruce up your dorm room or home. Minimum requirements for grants, and amounts available are listed below. Grants are given at the end of each semester, after the Final has been taken.

Making The Grade

Attending class is essential - but not mandatory. However, it will go a long way towards keeping your grades at the passing level. 100 grade points per hour are given for each class attended.

Other than skill-building in your major's key skills, you can also boost your grade score by particpating in group research, doing homework assignments, or completing assignments with a tutor.

Some students opt to hack their grades via a computer or get higher scores by sleeping with their professors; though this has been known to work, you should know there are consequences to be paid if you are caught. A surefire way to boost your grades is to write a term paper (or, if you're popular enough, influence someone to write it for you!). Also, be sure to always attend your final exam!

Graduating With Honors

Those graduating college with a 4.0 GPA will receive the honor of Summa Cum Laude; gaining +3 level for careers pertaining to your degree, and +2 for those outside your area of expertise.

Those graduating college with a 3.9 GPA will receive the honor of Magna Cum Laude; gaining +2 level for careers pertaining to your degree, and +1 for those outside your area of expertise.

Those graduating college with a 3.7 GPA will receive the honor of Cum Laude; gaining +1 level for careers pertaining to your degree.

Probation and Expulsion

You have to be quite lazy to be failing - college is geared towards helping you pass, not fail - but if you find you are partying more than studying, you will soon become one of the many on Academic Probation.

If you do not pass a semester (acquiring a grade of C- or lower), you are put on Academic Probation and must repeat the semester again. If you fail again, you will be expelled from college - no questions asked and no second chances.
