Idlewild Parish
Forward
by Mrs. Hannah Bell
I am so pleased to be here working at the Records Office, a position I have held for the past seven years. My family originates from these very rolling hills and valleys that make our current home, and I am honored to carry on their memories and history - as well as that of other former and curren residents in and around Idlewild Parish.
I am the daughter of Samuel and Marian Wirth of Desiderata Valley, where I live - in the home of my childhood - with my husband, Issac Bell, our precious son, Daniel Bell, and my dear sister, Sharon Wirth. My husband, Issac, is a lounge singer at the local Nikola Lounge, and Daniel is attending Desiderata Valley Private School, where he is on the Honor Roll. My sister, Sharon, who shares our home while establishing herself in a career in dance, is currently employed as a performance artist. I do the parish keeping in my spare time, and my full-time job - also in the field of dance - is leading my own class in SimJazzer.

Desiderata Valley's presiding prefect is Mayor Elizabeth Aspir, and the current Parish Keeper and resident genealogist is Natasha Jacquet. The parish branch of the State Horticultural Society is headed by Edward Contrary.
Residents are kept informed by the local, daily newspaper, The Valley Press. Archival records of the newspaper are kept on microfilm and can be accessed at the State Office of Records.
Obituaries on all residents who have moved on from this life can be found at the State Coroner's Office. Deceased residents of Idlewild Parish make their final resting place at Wildwood Cemetery in Myrtlegrove.
History
Decades ago, our founder, Manuel Estavan Aspir was bethrothed to the mayor's daughter, Francesca Antoinetta Ines Baldi, in the small, Spanish town of Curro Boda. However, Manuel was madly in love with his childhood sweetheart, the fetching Paulina Ivette Herrera. The problem was that Manuel came from a rich, influential family in the small village, and Paulina was the poor daughter of his family's paid cook, Carlos Herrera.
Manuel and Paulina decided to elope to the United States after discovering that Paulina was pregnant. A month before the wedding of Manuel and Francesca, the couple stole away - taking the thousands of dollars that had been set aside for the opulent wedding.
Upon arrival in America, Manuel bought up large tract of land and much surrounding acreage of what is now Desiderata Valley. Manuel and Paulina, with their son, Raul, lived happily on this land for the rest of their lives. Manuel had a dream of developing a beautiful, quaint, and peaceful community. He opened his lands for sale and lease, and eventually the areas were divided into their own close-knit groups which became Chretien Point, Myrtlegrove, and Winesbridge. The areas, and the surrounding valleys and communities, were eventually combined into the parish of Idlewild.
The Aspir family still lives on in Desiderata Valley today.
