Alpha Family History

"I have a dream," a starry-eyed Ada told her future husband-to-be, Abhjeet. "We'll start a legacy, a legacy of same first name-letters, like ours. It will be our legacy, Abhjeet, even after we're long gone."

And so it was written; for the family fortune to be carried on, children born into the Alpha family had to marry a spouse with the same letter name - and name their child the next name in the alphabet.

It was a strange legacy, but Ada and Abhjeet were never "normal" by any standards. Though they lived a normal enough life - cute 'burb house, white picket fence, one child, two cars - the two were always a little "kooky" as the neighbors would say. It was all harmless stuff, really; the neighbors grew used to seeing Ada watering the flowers in her underwear, and Abhjeet hopping around the house 6 times on one foot.

And so, with the birth of their first and only son, Braden, the legacy began...

Elizabeth Collen LillardHeir Ada Alpha Deppiesse

Matriarch of the Alpha Family, and the Alpha-Deppiesse Legacy, Ada started the legacy by marrying fairly late into adulthood, as there weren't many A-named men around.

Desperation eventually set in, and Ada settled for the promiscuous Abjheet; who promised to cull his womanizing ways to help Ada start a legacy of alphabetically-named descendants.

Abi - as she called him - and Ada grew comfortable together, perhaps even - towards the end - one might say "happy". Their shared love and joy of their only child, Braden, was a strong factor in their relationship - perhaps the only common ground they shared. It seemed to be enough. On her deathbed, Ada told Abi that, despite her initial misgivings, she had married the right man after all. Abjheet mourned her the rest of his days.

Elizabeth Collen LillardAbjheet Deppiesse

Skirt-chaser Abjheet had his eye on pretty Ada Alpha from the moment she moved into town. She became his great conquest - the one woman he could not seem to seduce into his bed.

So it was with much surprise that Abjheet opened his door to find Ada on his step - a proposal on her lips. It was more like a business proposition than a marriage, but Abjheet was fascinated by this strong, controlled woman who so fearlessly went after her desires. It didn't take much thought to agree to be her husband - even with the promise that he'd cease his lascivious ways; that was fine with Abjheet because, frankly, other women paled in comparison to Ada.

Mutual admiration grew into foundling love with the birth of their son. Though never overly affectionate, even in their most romantic moments, Ada and Abi's love grew slowly but strongly with deep roots that could not be touched by the outside world. They loved - if not passionately, most certainly resolutely and unconditionally. When Ada passed, Abi was beside himself with grief - his family felt he was never again truly whole.

Michael CollenHeir Braden Deppiesse

Braden grew up in a strict but loving home - doted on by both of his parents. There was never any question of his growing up and leaving - it wasn't part of the "legacy". He thought that everyone did the same in their families and homes, and it wasn't until his teens that he realized most men married and moved out after reaching adulthood.

Braden had no desire to that, though. He loved his family, he loved his home, and the thought of raising his own children in the house where he was raised brought him much comfort. He couldn't have been more thrilled when he met Brandi LeTourneau - a beautiful woman who loved the idea of being surrounded by family while raising their own.

Braden took his parents' deaths especially hard, and was never quite the same after their passing.

Michael CollenBrandi LeTourneau Deppiesse

Pretty, quiet Brandi was the last person you expected to see dart outing of a telephone booth suddenly clad in tights and a cape - but perhaps that's what made being a super hero such a perfect job for her.

You'd expect her to be jogging, running after little Connor, or swimming laps - all favorite activities - not kicking crime-fighting butt and looking good doing it. The super hero was Brandi's alter-ego; the strong, willful, butt-kicking side. When she was home, and "just Brandi", she was docile, sweet, and unassuming.

It was a job she kept until her death - looking none the less hot in those tights for the gray hair and slightly sagging bust.

Michael CollenHeir Connor Deppiesse

It was an interesting household that Connor grew up in - his grandfather was always sad, though he wasn't quite sure why, his mother fought crime - he never could get used to see her take off in flight from the front yard - and his dad was prone to odd mood swings. Still, he was very much loved and well cared for, so he couldn't complain much.

He never knew the stern yet beautiful looking woman that stared from a portrait on the wall. He was told she was "Grandma Ada" and that she had started "the legacy". Connor thought she was pretty, but looked awfully cold. He liked the idea of the legacy - especially when he learned other kids at school didn't have family legacies. He felt important; he felt it was something he had to carry on - for the family, for those that would come after him.

Connor stayed in the family home and - as the legacy stipulated - raised his family there. He married the gardener, Calista Despret, and they had a beautiful set of twins together.

Michael CollenCalista Despret Deppiesse

Neighborhood gardener turned loving family wife, Calista had little time for flowers and gardening chasing after her twins Desi and Dani. But as they grew older, the dirt called to her once more, and Calista - with the help of her family - opened a small flower shop on the side of the house. Connor thought it was great - an income the entire familiy could work towards; it was perfect for "the legacy".

Calista couldn't agree more - she wanted the business to support the family for generations and generations to come. So dedicated was she to this idea, that she begged her medium son, Desi, to resurrect her after death so that she could continue running the business.

She is also the Parish Record Keeper for her area. Calista's story is quite an interesting one - I suggest you give it a read.
