Moving Salvation

August 12, 2006

It was certainly nothing that anyone expected. Yet, as sure as a clean shoe after a spit shine, Loki and Circe Beaker found God.

They sold their large mansion, replete with all its torture experiment devices, and bought a small starter home smack dab in the middle of suburbia; a place Circe had once said she'd cut her nose off before living in. The two started immediately at making amends for their past evil deeds, sending gift baskets and flowers every day to Nervous Subject's new home until he - sick of the many deliveries - accepted their apology (though he politely declined to start attending their weekly Bible studies).

Both quit their jobs in the cold, hard science world - a place, they now felt, was devoid of God's unquestionable presence. Loki became a youth minister, and Circe started dabbling in baking - hoping to someday open her own, small bakery that she plans to name "Godly Goodness".

They attend Chosen Host of God Fellowship every Sunday, and are very active members of the church. And neither of them would be caught dead without a stack of Chick Tracts in their new mini-van to hand out everywhere they go (even the drive-thru line at McStrange's). The Beakers also hold weekly Bible Study meetings at their new home that many of their fellow parishioners attend; Loki has been putting together a website, Beaker's Bible, that hosts audio files of their meetings and a Bible-themed forum for discussions with believers worldwide.

It appears the Beakers have embraced Christ as they one embraced science.
