Collen Family History

Legacy Families

The Collen-Bertino family began with smart, family-oriented Elizabeth Abigail Collen. Elizabeth purchased a large lot in Legacy Acres, hoping to house the large family she someday hoped to have. She met and fell in love with Brandon Lillard, a romantic by heart who culled his cheating ways for the family life with his true love.

The two enjoyed lucrative careers in the Military, and began the legacy with three children, Michael, Rebecca, and Christopher. Michael was the second heir, a Romance Sim, who fell in love with another Romance Sim, Dagmar Bertino. Somehow the double-Romance seemed to cancel out the negative aspects of such an aspiration, and neither Sim ever strayed from the relationship. However, they lived together for many years before actually wedding - hence their first child, Ian, bearing the surname of "Bertino". They married when Dagmar became pregnant with Perry, who was given the surname of "Collen".

However, Ian was the heir and "Bertino" became the new legacy surname. Ian, a detective, met and married pizza delivery girl, Lauren Reeves. The two had one child, Reese; who was, at first, destined to be the ugliest Sim created in game. The ugly duckling, surprisingly, turned into an attractive Adult and gave birth to two beautiful children of her own, Anne Marie and Dustin.

Anne Marie, the heir apparent, married Jessie Day and they had a son together, Kyle, who, was an over-achiever. Anne Marie reached her lifetime goal of becoming a Criminal Mastermind, and was the first Sim ever to die perma-plat in my game. Her husband, Mitch, also reached the top of his career track - the Business Tycoon - before passing on (though this was not his lifetime aspiration).

Kyle married a fiery-headed sales clerk he met Downtown named Heather Gonzaga. Having children was difficult for family-oriented Heather; she could not seem to stay awake long enough to eat, and died once during each pregnancy - luckily Kyle was around to plead for her life. This was repaid in kind when Kyle was electrocuted trying to fix the microwave, and Heather saved him from death as well. The pair have two lovely children, Rory and Riley, bringing in the seventh generation and both vying for the heir torch.

Lovely Riley was chosen as heir and married the family maid, Remington Harris. They led a charmed life until Riley's tragic and untimely death during her second pregnancy. Remington raised their first child, Gwyn, with the help of his mother-in-law, Heather.

Even without a mother, Gwyn grew into a well-rounded individual. She married Jay Lam and the couple had three children. Jay and Gywn almost didn't make it to their golden anniversary; after the birth of their second child, Brendan, Gwyn caught Jay and her father, Remington, kissing - and not in family way. Remington died the next day. It was only after many years that Gwyn forgave Jay, and they ended up with a late-in-life child, Riana.

Oldest daughter, Adia, was chosen as heir. She chose Curtis Cameron as her mate, and the tenth generation was brought in by the birth of their daughter, Lilliana.

Family Member Details:

Elizabeth Collen LillardHeir Elizabeth Collen

Matriarch of the Collen Family, and the Collen-Bertino Legacy, Elizabeth started the legacy off in a one-room shithole and §12 in her pocket.

Finding a husband, at the time, was her main goal - and she finally settled on Townie Brandon Lillard. Though he wasn't the best choice for a spouse, he was the most attractive man that had shown an interest in her yet. She hoped he would help her create beautiful offspring to begin the legacy with. She was wrong.

Beautiful Elizabeth's and Unique-Looking Brandon's genes did not mix well together, and the first batch of Legacy children were not as pretty as hoped for. Still, Elizabeth loved her children, and her husband, bad genes and all.

Being the Legacy Matriarch, Elizabeth chose to keep her surname after marrying Brandon Lillard; something he agreed upon with no reservations. Elizabeth's three children bore her surname instead of their father's, though the Legacy surname changed when Michael and Dagmar's son, Ian Bertino, became the third generation heir.

After popping out a few possible heirs, Elizabeth joined Brandon in the Military career field and went on to become a Senior Officer before her death of Old Age.

She would be proud to see how far her legacy has gone.

Brandon LillardBrandon Lillard

A regular Don-Juan around town before he fell in love, Brandon never imagined himself the family type. But his perspective on life changed when he met beautiful, independent Elizabeth Collen. In the end, he found that having a wife and children - and especially grandchildren - was more rewarding than he ever could have imagined.

Brandon was a decorated Military man who was a Commander before Old Age claimed his life.

Just before his death, Brandon had a wish to see each of his children. He got on the phone and invited over Rebecca and Christopher, who had since moved out, and then waited for Michael to come home from work. Once all of his children were around him, he passed away quietly - joining with his wife at the Great Hula Hereafter.

Michael CollenHeir Michael Collen

Though not the first choice for an heir, Michael was finally chosen to carry on the legacy - something he could've done without. Still, like his father before him, he found the joys of parenthood better than he'd first imagined.

Not long after becoming an adult, he moved his girlfriend, Dagmar Bertino, into the family home. Elizabeth and Brandon weren't happy about the arrangement, but added an extra bedroom onto the house for the young couple anyway. Dagmar soon became pregnant, and - much to his parents' dismay - the couple still chose not to marry.

It wasn't until young Ian had reached his teen years, and Dagmar became pregnant a second time that Michael and Dagmar finally tied the knot. Young Perry adopted the Collen surname.

Congressman Michael died, like his father, some time after his wife but was able to see his granddaughter, Reese, before going on to that great Hula Party in the Sky.

Dagmar Bertino CollenDagmar Bertino

Responsibility was never something Dagmar took seriously. Though she was an attentive mother, there was a part of Dagmar that never grew up completely - even as an Elder she was DJing at house parties for kids twice her age. It was this zest for life that first attracted Michael to her.

They were always an odd pair - he with a serious career in Politics, and she playing around in the Slacker field - and their relationship was usually nonconventional; yet that suited them just fine.

Dagmar went on to the Great Luau a few short days after she and Micheal celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary.

Rebecca Collen DeppiesseRebecca Collen

Quiet, mousey Rebecca was originally pegged to carry on the Collen Legacy, but her unattractive offspring caused the torch to pass on to her brother, Michael, and his beautiful wife, Dagmar.

Rebecca didn't mind. All she'd ever wanted was a quiet life with a caring husband and healthy children. With Michael and Dagmar raising Ian, and she and her husband, Leo, soon after having their second child, the Collen home had become very crowded.

After their father died, Rebecca and Leo packed up Devin and Dena and moved into a small home down the road - where they have sat, unplayed, since.

Leo DeppiesseLeo Deppiesse

The one-time family gardener turned loving family husband, Leo was one of the most attractive males to marry into the Collen family. Unfortunately, his "cute" genes were not quite as strong as patriarch Brandon's weird ones were, and Devin and Dena turned out less attractive than hoped for. This caused Rebecca to lose the bid for Legacy Heir; I am a shallow god.

Still, Leo the gardener-turned-field-researcher was one of my favorite male Sims to marry into the legacy family. He, Rebecca, and the children live a time-stop life in the house down the street.

Chris CollenChristopher Collen

The Child That Shouldn't Have Been. Poor Chris, with two older siblings to choose from as heir, he never stood a chance. In all fairness, had he been a cute and decent Sim he might've beat them both for the title, but he was not so lucky.

Chris was only a teen when his mother died, and he never quite got over the emotional breakdown he suffered during that time. The quiet, A+ student quickly began failing and spent the majority of his time standing throwing tantrums or fighting with the Social Bunny. He had another breakdown when he reached adulthood and it was soon obvious that he would never be able to function in a normal Sim life.

Since I don't intend to play my Legacy satellite families until after the Legacy Challenge is complete, and then only the ones that interest me, I knew there was no future for Christopher Collen. I chose his end to be dramatic, yet quick; this was accomplished by a falling satellite one sunny morning. Rest in peace, Christopher.

Ian BertinoHeir Ian Bertino

Third Generation Heir, Ian Bertino, almost lost the bid for heir to his younger brother, Perry. Luckily for him, I'm also an impatient god, and didn't feel like waiting for Perry to grow up before I could continue the bloodline.

Ian, never the nicest of my Sims, married the demure and docile, yet pretty, pizza delivery girl, Lauren Reeves. Ian was passably attractive once you stuck a beard on him, and Lauren was very lovely with her dark hair and blue eyes. Unfortunately, those ugly genes win out every time and the next heir, Ian's daughter, Reese, was to be the ugliest of the bunch!

Ian ended up becoming very close with his son-in-law, Jessie - who mourned more than anyone when the old detective finally kicked the bucket.

Lauren Reeves BertinoLauren Reeves

Marrying into the Collen fortune helped Lauren ditch the delivery gig and pursue her dream of working in the medical field. Before her death of old age, Dr. Bertino was a renowned surgeon at Magda-Crist Central Hospital.

Though an amicable woman who got along with nearly everyone she met, there was one person whom Lauren never took a liking to - her son-in-law, Jessie Day. She irritated and bickered with him for the duration of her last days with her family - so much so that he laughed over her urn the day of her death. Perhaps she was angry that his looks-like-it-was-smacked-with-a-2x4-nose-genes passed on to her grandchildren (and their children!)

Perry CollenPerry Collen

Red-headed lothario, Perry Collen, moved out of the legacy home shortly after becoming an adult. His story will resume when I, someday, decide to finish off the lives of the satellite families that the legacy family has spawned.

Devin DeppiesseDevin Deppiesse

Son of second generation Sim, Rebecca Collen, and Leo Deppiesse, this family moved out of the legacy home after it was decided their line would not carry the heir torch. His story will resume when I, someday, decide to finish off the lives of the satellite families that the legacy family has spawned.

Dena DeppiesseDena Deppiesse

Daughter of second generation Sim, Rebecca Collen, and Leo Deppiesse, this family moved out of the legacy home after it was decided their line would not carry the heir torch. Her story will resume when I, someday, decide to finish off the lives of the satellite families that the legacy family has spawned.

Reese Bertino DayHeir Reese Bertino

"The Ugly Duckling". As a teen, it seemed that Reese was destined to the be the ugliest Sim I'd ever had born in the game. She had an sharp, pointy nose, too-large and and overly-round eyes and an elongated head. She wasn't pretty any way you cut it. After a few botched attempts at primping her up with fresh make-up and cute hair, one look finally made her look passable and she spent the rest of her teen years fairly happy.

Yet the joke was on me, because Reese turned out to be a fairly attractive adult! Imagine my surprise - I've never been so happy to be wrong. She married flat-nosed Jessie Day, and the two went on to produce two very attractive children. Who'd of thunk it?

Jessie DayJessie Day

"He of The Flat Nose". Jessie was an attractive guy; until you saw his profile. A side-view of the nicely tanned Sim showed a nose that appeared to have been smashed by a very heavy and blunt object. I hoped Jessie's nose genes would not be passed on to his children - but those ugly genes are strong.

Formerly an exterminator, family-man Jessie joined the police force with his father-in-law (and best bud) to better support his new family (even though he'd married into a considerable fortune!). He was very close to both of his children, and only showed an ugly side when it involved his mother-in-law - whose urn he chuckled over even before her ashes had settled.

Anne Marie Day LawsonHeir Anne Marie Day

The first beautiful Sim born into the legacy family since its originator, Elizabeth Collen. Beautiful and intelligent Anne Marie was a popular and pretty A+ student all through her school years. No one would've guessed she had an afterschool job as a pickpocket!

Charming Anne Marie was born to be a criminal, though. Her lifetime aspiration was to be a criminal mastermind, and, even though she'd reached old age, she met this lifetime goal.

Anne Marie married family-man and former firefighter, Mitch Lawson and the pair had an over-achiever son, Kyle. Mitch, a businessman, was well aware of his wife's less than legal career but supports her regardless. "It's just what she was born to do," he often told friends. "Some people paint, some people teach, and some people chop wood. Annie steals."

Mitch LawsonMitch Lawson

Executive Mitch Lawson doesn't tell his co-workers that his beautiful wife is a part-time cat burglar, but he's proud of her all the same. He's also extremely proud of his son, Kyle, who, as a child, had already maxed out a skill and, as a teen, has gotten into private school and keeps a 4.0 average even while working an after-school job.

Though Mitch dreams secretly of becoming a super hero, he knows this would never work (his wife being an evil villian and all), so he keeps his dreams to himself and lets Anne Marie shine. It suits Mitch just fine, really. As long as his family is happy, he's happy.

After his Annie's death, Mitch was lonely and fell in love with his much younger assistant, Christy Stratton - who'd been lusting after him for years. He proposed to her during his son's wedding, and when she accepted, they decided to tie the knot right there (hey, the bartender was already paid for and the trellis was already out). After a double-honeymoon, both father and son came home and impregnanted their new wives.

Mitch succumbed to old age the day after Christy gave birth to their twin sons.

Dustin DayDustin Day

Joaquin Phoenix-lookalike, Family aspiration Dustin lost the bid for heir to his beautiful, intriguing sister. That suited him just fine, however. Dustin always dreamed of giving an orphaned child a happy home, and he adopted young Jennifer before moving out on his own. He and Jennifer wait for me to play them when the Legacy is done.

Christy Stratton LawsonChristy Stratton

She didn't care that he was old, or that he liked to wear over-alls at home as opposed to stuffy business suits. She didn't mind his long, white hair or his dark age spots. She didn't even care that he was married - Christy Stratton was head-over-heels in love with her boss the first day she started working for him.

She was his assistant, and catered to his every whim. If Mitch was aware of her longing for him, he never acknowledged it. He was married, and he loved his wife - his "Annie", he called her - and Christy respected that; loved him even more for it. She was sad for him when Anne Marie passed away, but secretly a part of her was overjoyed. She doted on Mitch even more. He was a family-oriented man, a man that needed love and attention - the kind of man that needed a wife, and Christy wanted to prove to him that she could be just what he needed.

It must've worked, because he soon began to return her affections. There was much innocent flirting, and then he invited her to be his date for his son's wedding. Little did Christy know it would end up being her wedding day, too!

Though their time together was short, Christy knows she will forever love her Mitch - and with two over-active, red-headed twin sons to remind her, she won't soon forget him. After Heather and Kyle had their second child, Christy and the boys moved out on their own - away from the now crowded home. They presently sit in limbo, waiting for me to finish the Legacy family so that I can start up with the satellite families.

Kyle LawsonHeir Kyle Lawson

"Wonder Kid!" Either I'm getting really good at this game, or Kyle is a Sim-players dream-come-true. The kid was a Knowledge Aspiration-Sim even before hitting his teens. All he wanted to do was read books and work on skill building. His body skill was maxed long before he hit teen-hood and, even though I rolled a Knowledge Aspiration for him, he was primed for a career in the Athletic field (besides, I needed the career reward object!).

Kyle married former-sales clerk, Heather Gonzaga, shortly after his mother's death. His first son, Rory, was born the same day as his young twin brothers, Joren and Loden. After Christy and the boys moved out so that I could play them later as a satellite family, Kyle and Heather had their daughter, Riley. The couple decided this would be it, since Heather died during both pregnancies.

Heather Gonzaga LawsonHeather Gonzaga

"Stay-at-home Mom" and "Difficult Pregnancy-Sim". Heather always wanted a family, and lots of children running around. She was a Family Sim, after all. Yet having those children proved to be more difficult than Heather had ever imagined. She couldn't seem to get enough sleep - no matter what - and was too exhausted to stay awake long enough to eat. During both of her pregnancies, she died of starvation. Thankfully her loving husband was there to beg the Grim Reaper for her life both times and Heather lived to raise the son and daughter she'd wanted so badly.

Heather eventually was able to pay Kyle back in kind after begging the Grim Reaper for his life after a terrible electrocution accident (she'd told him to unplug the microwave before working on it!). Busy raising two young children, Heather waited for a career until after both children were in school. She then went on to become a successful Scientist.

In old age, she lived at home with her son-in-law, Remington. In her spare time, she helped Remington raise her granddaughter, Gwyn. She passed away happy with life, eager to rejoin with her husband and daughter who died too soon and proud of the family she'd raised.

Jennifer Day

Adopted toddler daughter of Dustin Day, awaiting me to play the satellite families after this Legacy has ended.

Rory LawsonRory Lawson

I'd hoped that Rory would roll a Pleasure aspiration, because the kid liked nothing more than to have fun; no matter what I'd tell him to do, his favorite activities were singing on the karaoke machine and jumping in puddles of water. He returned to these things every time I wasn't looking. He, however, rolled Fortune. With his mother's red-hair, and his grandmother's zest for life, I think Rory will go far. It was a difficult decision deciding between he or his baby sister, Riley, would carry on the heir torch. In the end, his lovely sister won the bid and Rory went on to college; awaiting me to finish this Legacy.

Riley Lawson HarrisHeir Riley Lawson

Even as a toddler, Riley was beautiful; with her father's brown hair and mother's blue eyes I'd hoped she would grow to be a beauty. Indeed, she grew up to be a stunning woman, who married the family maid, handsome Remington Harris. After her father died, Riley became somewhat of the House Mistress. Her mother was often at work, being a renowned Theorist, and Remington worked odd hours at his cooking jobs. It suited her just fine, especially after she became pregnant. Remi and Riley were overjoyed at the birth of their daughter, Gwyn. Life seemed idyllic; the only discontent was Remington's frequent squabbles with his mother-in-law, who had never taken to him.

Family-oriented Remington and stay-at-home Riley were eager to expand their family, and Riley became pregnant again when Gwyn was but a toddler. Sadly, tragedy struck the happy family, and Riley died - too quickly for me to intervene with any begging - being scared to death by a hapless ancestor's ghost and taking her unborn child with her. It was the only real tragedy to strike the legacy family.

Remington HarrisRemington Harris

Former maid, Remington Harris, married into the Collen fortune after falling in love with the beautiful Riley Lawson while cleaning her family's house. The two were married quickly and were very happy until tragedy struck during Riley's second pregnancy.

Remington has never been the same since losing his wife, and is constantly angry and bickers with everyone, except for his daughter, Gwyn, whom he heaps all of his love on. Remi wishes for the large family he never got to have, but just can't see himself happy with anyone but his lost and beloved Riley.

Though he bickered constantly with her, he was secretly glad for his mother-in-law's presence and her help with raising Gwyn, who was only a toddler when her mother died.

Sadly, Remington died after falling in love with his son-in-law and breaking his daughter's heart when she caught them. He never got to apologize or make amends, as he died the very next day.

Gwyn Harris LamHeir Gwyn Harris

Gwyn is a pretty, outgoing Sim, and as she grew into adult she came to resemble her mother - who died when she was a toddler - greatly. She has large, blue eyes and soft, brown hair. She's a Popularity Sim who has many friends, and married another Popularity Sim; Gwyn and Jay are the most social of the generation heirs and their spouses. She plans to have a gaggle of children that she can give all of the motherly love to that she missed out on when her mother died.

Gwyn married the pizza delivery guy, Jay Lam in a small, backyard ceremony. Her aging father couldn't have been happier with her choice and eagerly awaited his first grandchild; which turned out to be a girl that was named Adia.

Gwyn died of old age a day before her first grandchild was born.

Jay Lam Jay Lam

Jay never imagined his part-time pizza delivery gig would land him a beautiful, well-off wife. Happily married with a young daughter and a baby on the way, Jay - pursuing a life in Politics - thought he had the life he always dreamed of.

He was even pleased to realize he had a real connection with his father-in-law, Remington. Every spare moment either had found them together, hanging out and talking, or pushing one another on the swing. Gwyn, preoccupied with a toddler and one-on-the-way didn't seem to mind that the two spent so much time together, and Jay had never felt so connected to anyone in his life.

It was the day that Brendan was born that Remington and Jay realized what they felt for one another was more than simple friendship. After the birth, both men stepped outside for a breath of fresh air, and - in the excitement - Jay kissed his father-in-law. The mere peck, however, moved their relationship into the next realm and both suddenly realized that they were falling in love with one another.

The story had an unhappy ending. That very night, Gwyn walked into the kitchen to find her father and husband in a decidely un-family-like embrace. Gwyn was furious at both of them and stormed out. Remington, heartbroken, died the next day.

Years after the affair and Remington's death, Gwyn eventually forgave her husband, and the reconciliation caused the aging couple to have a late-in-life child; a girl they named Riana.

Jay outlived his wife, and succumbed to old age moments after helping his infant granddaughter, Liliana, blow out the candles on her toddler birthday cake.

Adia Lam Heir Adia Lam

Beautiful Adia, the Legacy's first Pleasure aspiration Sim, is preparing to carry on the torch as heir. Her father's genes finally were able to break the flat-nose curse.

Adia, after much courting around Legacy Acres, settled on Club Dante employee, Curtis Cameron.

Curtis Cameron

Curtis Cameron

Curtis left the club gig and got a respectable job as a Scientist after marrying into his wife's wealthy family.

Brendan LamBrendan Lam

Younger brother of Adia, son of Gwyn and Jay. Brendan's birth heralded major changes for his family - within days of his being born, his grandfather died and his mother had caught his father having an affair with her father.

Brendan is currently futhering his education at college.

Heir Liliana Cameron

Liliana, rings in the 10th Generation, bringing the Legacy to an official close - though I intend to keep playing the family as I've grown quite attached to them.
