Obituary

Holland, Michelle Courtney Reeves, 79, died Friday morning at Sisters of Mercy Hospital in Scion City. She was surrounded by her loving family at the time.

Michelle's life was one of benevolence, charitableness, and ambition. A lifelong advocate of quality public education, Michelle made a definite impact on Pinstar Parish's education system. She was a retiree from Legacy Acres Elementary, where she taught for thirty-seven years. She never, in all her years of teaching, forgot a student and was able to remember their names and tidbits about each of them even after their own children ended up in her classroom.

Michelle is deeply missed by her beloved husband, Claude, with whom she just celebrated fifty-nine years of marriage, love, and commitment; by her only child, Russell Broderick Holland and his wife Jaiden Ruby (neé Taylor), by her grandchildren Drake Spencer Holland and Brenna Emily (neé Holland) Stompel, and her great-grandchildren, Joelle Drew Holland, Jada Eve Stompel, Portia Lucille Stompel, and Nora Belle Elisabeth Stompel, as well as many dear friends, all of Legacy Acres.

She was predeceased by her parents, the late Aaron and Gerayln Scalone Reeves.

Michelle's was a life well-lived, and we are thankful to have known her.

Interment will be in Dynasty Cemetery in private family mausoleum.
