Two Weddings, One Day

Everyone in Magda-Crist attended the joint wedding of my daughters, Dara and Misha. I'm so proud to see them grown and starting new lives with such wonderful, young men. Andy and I are more than pleased to have Joseph and Daniel join our family, and to be honest, I can't wait for grandchildren!

Yes, both Andy and I were disappointed that neither of our girls wanted a college education - after all, we both have one (it's where we met!). But if starting right out into the live adulthood is what they want, we support that. The idea of being a fairly young grandmother appeals to me, I must admit.

I never imagined - shy, awkward little college girl that I was - that I would be standing there, tears in my eyes, watching my two beautiful daughters be married. I never imagined I'd have such a happy and wonderful, little family. I don't think any of us, Martin and Allegra included, thought we'd be where we are today. Allegra never fancied herself with children, and Martin sure didn't think he'd end up marrying a soroity girl! We've all done well, and I've treasured our friendships these past years. Having them both at my daughters' wedding meant the world to me.

I can't wait to see what the next phase in life will bring us all!

Little Todd On the Way

December 18 , 2006

Dara and Joseph stopped by today with wonderful news - my eldest daughter is pregnant! There is going to be a new baby in the family. Andy and I are going to be grandparents! I can't believe it!

Now, I'm off to call Allegra for some advice on this grandparenting thing - she's a marvel at it with little Lizzie.
