Pleasantview Memorial Cemetery

Pleasantview Memorial Cemetery is governed by a parish-governed Cemetery Commission authorized by the Skasimlaki State Coroner's Office. Members of the Wright Parish Cemetery Commission include Duc Chén, Nadia Dreamer, Cassandra Goth, and Amy Monif. The commission establishes rules and regulations, as well as prices and services. Cemetery personnel maintain Pleasantview Memorial Cemetery, which is located in the Town of Pleasantview.

Beautiful Bayou View Cemtery is located in the historic city of Iberia and along the banks of Iberia Bayou. Surrounded by mossy oaks and time-worn pecan trees, the cemetery has been in use since the early 1700s, when Cajun settlers - evicted from Canada - trickled down to the Gulf Coast.

The land was designated as the area's official burial grounds in 1842 and has been in use since. In the early 1900s, a local woman - then head of the Iberia branch of the Horticultural Society, landscaped the grounds with beautiful, local flowers. The cemetery today is maintained as a garden as well as Evangeline Parish's final resting grounds; beautiful camelias, crepe myrtles, azaleas, magnolia trees, and hydrangea dot the landscape around and surround the ornate headstones of Evangeline's dearly departed.
