The Maxis-created Sims that came with The Sims 2 have a rich, often interwoven, ancestral history nestled into each neighborhood. I put together this guide to share with you these histories as I have found them out. I hope you enjoy it.
These are the ancestries for Pleasantview, Strangetown, Riverblossom Hills, and Desiderata Valley; Veronaville will be coming at a later time.
You will also find the ancestries for the families of Bluewater Village, which shipped with the Open for Business EP - though not a "neighborhood", the families therein did come with small family trees.
